Can bad weather make my dog's broken leg hurt?

My dog had surgery 2-3 weeks ago to fix her broken femur, so now she has a metal pin in it. Yesterday we had a massive outbreak of tornadoes and severe weather, and all day and even the night before she was acting really scared and submissive. Everytime I would go to pick her up she'd yelp out like she was hurt. Sometimes I wouldn't even touch her and she'd yelp. She walks on the broken leg fine, and I'm very cautious that she's not going to over do it on the leg. I'm stumped as to whether its even the leg bothering her. Could the metal in her leg and the bad weather have something to do with one another?
