What is your take on this situation?

So I arrived to basic training back in August and everything was a typical basic experience up until mid September when I started to have pain in my right leg. I went to sick call and got on a profile that ended on an APFT day. My leg was in pain so I needed it to get re evaled but a drill sergeant denied me sick call and made me run 2 miles on a bad leg. The next day I was seen for my leg and after 4 weeks of appointments(bone scans and xrays) and still training. I was diagnosed with a stress fracture on mid femur. waited till the 10th week still training and got 30 day con leave for the month of November. Had fun at home and came back eager to get the rest of training over with. Got back during the cycle break and went for another reeval to get an RTD, X-rays revealed possible fractures on the hip and femoral neck (did not happen while I was on leave). I was put on crutches and went back to my unit to wait for another bone scan. In the meantime of waiting, our company had to move from one building to another.This meant me and about 2 to 4 other privates( they left at different times) had to lift heavy desks, couches etc. for about 12 hours during the week. I was allowed at the time to go out on weekends but not much to do here. When the bone scan results came in, it said no problems even though I knew there was something still wrong. They told me to wait till Christmas Exodus was done since everything was closing done cause it was a week away. So exodus came and I went home again on Dec 17 till Jan 4. Came back dreading the fact that I would be stuck in a feeling of limbo. I started to refuse medical treatment by never going back to sick call. All at the same time I was still working for my company. Things got even worse when we got back. We still had to move heavy objects with all our injuries ( the other 2 guys had injuries as well) and we also had to paint the barracks. The usual workday was from 8am to about 10 pm for 5 to 7 days a week. Things started to hit the fan and it just got really bad, I had to pay nearly $50 for paint, somebody paid $100 and the other nearly $200. They stared taking privileges like our phones away and we weren't allowed mail cause they didn't have an address. It got to a point where somebody who I have no clue who it was called IG and the company caught some flak. All our superiors were trying to track down who did it like it was some sort of crime. Some of my drill sergeants easily described it as "slave labor" and another said that we was seriously "disgusted at the way we got treated". When things finally seemed to get better cause it seemed like the slave labor came to an end, the staff duty came. That is where we just sit there for 24 hour shifts doing nothing but waiting for a phone that never rang. We did 24 hour shifts every other day for about a week and then once every 4 days for about 3 weeks. One time, I got screwed over and had to do a 48 hour shift. All this time I was developing some sort of emotional distress type thing and kept it in for about a month. It got to the point where after that 48 hour shift I felt like my head was about to explode and I would have lost it, so I seeked mental help and got scheduled for a discharge. i was scheduled for a chapter 11 and waited about 8 weeks for the papers to finally stop getting dicked around and was about to go home. 5 days before I was scheduled to leave. I got told I wasn't eligible for CH 11 cause it only works for people with 180 days or less of service. Mine was signed 183 days of service. I was ordered back to my company and get a new chapter. It's been over a month and I've still been waiting for my paperwork to get signed. Just wanted opinions on this situation.

What should I do in high school to get into competitive accounting programs?

I am considering applying for competitive accounting programs. One of these programs is Holy Cross' , which only accepts 32 students per year. What would make me a good applicant for admissions into this program. I have taken all of the hardest math classes at my school and consistently get As. My SAT/ACT scores for math are near perfect, and my Math 1 and Math 2 subject tests are both above 700. However, I also want to do pre med. In the last few years I have put a lot of emphasis on things such as volunteering at the hospital, shadowing, and taking classes that relate to pre medicine. Therefore, I haven't done much that relates to accounting (if there is even anything to do as a high school student). Many of the classes I have taken in high school were math/science related. I will only take 2 businesses classes (economics and intro to business) because I just realized I am interested in accounting. What do you think I should do?

What is the process for getting housing on or near a military base and child care?

My hubby will be returning soon from his deployment. He is currently a Private First Class but he is hoping that he will soon be eligible for promotion. My father and grandfather (one of my grandfathers!!) were in the military. They both served prior to getting married so their experience might be different from my husbands. Both of them lived in barracks on base. Sometimes they tell stories about their experiences but what I've gathered from hearing them is that both lived with many other men and had a bunk bed lined up with the beds of other soldiers. My husband and I and our daughter want to live together on or near his base while he reports every morning for military duty (except Saturday and Sunday and Federal Holidays lol lol!!). What generally is the process? Also would I be eligible for child care? I'd like to register for classes at a nearby universities. Do military bases have universities nearby? Can I get a discount rate for classes? Do I have to pay out of state tuition? I am a Mathematics Major and finished a lot of the requirements for an Associate of Science (two year degree). I'd like to major in Applied Math with an emphasis on Statistical Analysis. Can I do that while my husband is serving in the capacity as a Private First Class or hopefully Specialist 4?

Fun things to do with my injured boyfriend?

My boyfriend shattered his femur and elbow two weeks ago, and can't walk on that leg for another 6 weeks at least. I am getting a little bored of watching TV and movies with him, and want some suggestions of things we can do. He can walk short distances with crutches/hopping, but needs lots of rest after walking. We are both very active people (he got these injuries skiing off a cliff), and we are also in the early stages of our relationship. We can't have sex or even cuddle as his injuries are still too painful. What are some things we can do, either at his house or outings that won't be too much for him?

My border collie appointed herself guardian of my ferrets, and she did it even when she was dying of a brain tumor and immobile. Is that something she might like? Maybe you could foster some orphaned baby kittens or puppies that don't run around much yet. Why does my leg do this?

For the past year or so I have been having this annoying problem with my right pelvic/femur joint. If I go to open my legs for any reason sometimes it will cause this sharp stinging pain at the joint. I don't know if I am pulling a muscle or not but it causes me to double over in pain. It hurts sooo bad. It doesn't do this every time though. Also if I am laying flat and doing leg lifts I can feel something in that joint popping out of place. I don't know if this is relevant or not. Any ideas what is wrong??? Please??

Racial Profiling! You think I got a case?

I am the only Black on my block, I have a neighbor that has been harassing me for over a year now. He has called and went up to the code enforcement dept several times and went over the boss of boss to report that i was selling out of my home. Code enforcement has harass me by coming to my house 5 times to say that a neighbor keep reporting me. I dont sell appliances out of my home. I have a appliance store around the corner from my house, there is no reason to sale out of my home. I know that it is against the code to operate a business out of your home that is why I have a store around the corner. Today He was taken several picture of me and a person that came over to pick up a frig i donated out of my garage. There is nothing wrong in giving a person in need of a frig i no longer need. There is yard sales go on all the time and they get money for there items so what is the difference! He had told me I am depreciating the neighborhood. Im not doing nothing wrong and all he is trying to do is get me out the neighborhood. That same neighbor didnt say anything to the other neighbor that had a whole bunch of goats in the backyard. Him and his wife went over that neighbor house to go pet the goats. I am being racially harassed. I'm trying to figure out this movie?

It's not a recent movie, and all I remember is one of the scenes. There is this man who is a child phsycologist or some sort of doctor. One of his patients finds him when he grows up and harrasses him, basically because he never cured him. At the end, his parents call this Dr. person and he goes to their backyard, finding him tied up to a chair. His chest has a diamond tattoo, which one of the things he always talked about as a child. He connects the dots that his father molested or raped him as a child, and that is why he's so screwed up. This man ends up shooting the doctor, I'm not sure if he succeeds at killing him, and then he kills himself. All I remember. It's driving me crazy because I have no idea how to figure out what this movie is and I'd appreciate any suggestions!

I have been advised to do a meniscus repair surgery for my painful knee. Should I go for it or not?

I am a 39 year old man, 5 '- 7" tall and 78 kg weight. I used to experience a locking effect whenever I extended my right knee from a crossed legged( yoga) position since a year ago. After trying several moves it would feel ok and once ok it would function normally. Recently in a bid to loose my weight I began brisk walking and running. After a months session I developed stiffness at the back of my knee and pain at the junction between the femur and the tibia on the inner side of the right knee. An MRI was advised and the report suggested torn meniscus. I have been advised by my doctor to undergo surgery. Can anyone who have been through this advise me if I should go ahead? Can medication heal torn meniscus?Can I postpone the surgery if necessary? If yes? for how long and does surgery cure it 100%. Thanks.

Do not fertilize, let the tree try and establish itself. Mulch the tree in and keep the ground moist not wet. Over watering kills more trees and plants than people realize.

it really does depend.....at one point my dad had a card that he had to carry due to his training that basically meant his hands where considered a deadly weapon..........in the main IF you can deliver those types of blows then you SHOULD have the training and self control to pull back at the last moment and not break or kill anyone but certainly put them on their butt and make them pay attention..... OH and in this case size has NO bearing at all.

Broken Leg Femur????HELP!!!!!!?

I broke it during football practice wednesday and got surgery that midnight..now its saturday and my leg is very swull and it even hurts when i walk with crutch support....i have done leg exercises and put ice on it.....this is very painful and how long will this take to heal.....but can you at least PLEASE tell me how long it will take for my leg to stop swelling and retun to normail size....and im already out the hospital and only have a few pain pills before they run out and i have no re-fills.....it hurts just by going to the bathroom which is not even far from my room moving whith cruthes

I can say i know exactly how you feel. My mother got very mad when I started shaving! I never understood it...I'm 28 now and I still don't know why she was angry. I was getting picked on!!! Sometimes parents worry about the weirdest things, but they always have your best interests at heart. I'm sure they will understand that you need to shave. Letting some one drive who is unlicensed.?

She's screwed four ways to Sunday. Insurance does not cover an unlicensed driver. She lost her car. She will pay for the damage to the taxi. She will pay for lost wages and medical bills of the driver and passenger. It's illegal to let an unlicensed driver operate your car and she could face criminal charges. In fact, since the unlicensed driver was involved in an injury accident jail time becomes a real possibility.

Work place colleagues and them being told they are so good/attractive?

I think people don't simply like them because they are attractive...I think people like interesting people who have many hobbies or have much to talk about. I am sure that if you get more involved, talk more, become more confident and out-going people will want to spend more time with you. I know of some hideously ugly people who are popular at work because they have that spark of confidence...that's all you need. People aren't going to respect someone who thinks "um im ugly so I'm not important." That will make u even more unpopular.

Sunday, I decided to take my mother and my oldest brother to Walmart. I knew that it was a bad idea for my brother to come because he does not like me and has always been jealous of me. But I let him go anyway. To make a long story short, we were all having a conversation and my brother was offended about something my mother and I said but because he does not like me, he put more of an emphasis on me. He started yelling and calling me b***ches, mothaf****, etc. and also called my mother and I jack***** and how I am not sh** and my son (who was sitting next to him) is not going to turn out to be sh** like me. He started talking about stuff my mother has said about me and my son behind our backs and of course as usual she did not deny it. But of course I already knew it was true because she has attempted to talk about me to my friends. During the argument, my mother was speaking for him and said that he is also talking about a previously situation that I did not apologize for (which I was not wrong in but my mother always takes his side) and I told her he is a grown man who can speak for himself and is speaking for himself. So instead of taking his abuse I dropped him off at the bus stop. My mother decides to get out with him because she was mad at me for dropping him off at a bus stop she did not want him dropped off. Then this morning, my mother leaves a message starting with "This is the lowest thing you have ever done..." and before the message could completely play, I deleted. So my question is, how is this my fault? For whatever reason I have always been the blame for most things every since I was a child.

Why does the media make it seem like I should support the black community because I am part black?

Half of the issues that these "community leaders" endorse could be solved by placing more of an emphasis on personal responsibility. I hate it when people say successful black or part black people need to "share the wealth to uplift the community" or be labled a sellout or self hater. Someblack people call me a sellout because I don't support every black artist, politician or athlete. People question me constantly because I am more conservative and I disagree with 90% of the things Obama has put forward I like to avoid any conversations on politics because of this. Anytime I am out with my male friend(who is white) people ask if I am a "self hater" or why I am dating a white man. I am tired of this type of garbage, most of these people preach anti racism, yet drag race into every single conversation. I have known some of these people since middle school and have stopped talking to them, because they cannot accept my views, dating choices, and how I choose to self identify as mixed. My dad is black and asian and deals with the same thing, and people have said that my mom is "racist"(which is not true at all) because she is not a democrat.

I'm disabled and now my fiance is about to lose a leg to cancer...I don't know if I can go through with this..?

My world has been turned upside down this past week as my fiance got word that his cancer has spread up his leg and bone at the top of his femur is dead and he's going to have to have his leg amputated from the hip down, and quite frankly I'm freaking out. I love my fiance more than anything in this world but I'm freaking out because I've been disabled since a car wreck left me paralyzed from the waist down in high school and now I'm having a really hard time imagining how we will be able to take care of each other since both of us will need help getting around and we'll both be using wheelchairs and neither of us will be able to do a lot of things for each other. I hate to say this, but the thought has been going through my mind that I can't marry this man now. I know I sound like a total jerk in saying this, but I can't imagine living the rest of my life with my disability and having my spouse also be disabled, and it's tearing me up on the inside that I feel this way, because I love him more than anything else in this world but I really can't see myself marrying another disabled person and I really don't know what to do. He's my best friend in the world and I know he'd be devastated if I told him how I'm really feeling, but it's the truth and I don't know what I should do. I haven't told anyone that this has been going through my head, and I'm scared. Any advice any of you can offer would be so very much appreciated.

Can my estranged brother obtain a restraining order against me & my parents?

OK so over the past 7 years my family has been dealing with my nephew being abused as an infant. He had a broken collarbone, fractured ribs, a broken arm, dislocated elbow and a broken femur. He was not allowed to return to the parents home and subsequently lived with my parents for a few years....there are now 3 other babies. After all was said and done the court gave my ex-brother and his wife probation for the offenses. My parents as well as myself have been supportive of the children this entire time, having them all weekends, holidays, my Dad would take them and pick them up from school daily, etc. They moved to my parents street, yes, the same street and after they were sentenced they cut off all contact with me and my parents. My mother tried calling her son and he cursed her out up and down and said the if her and her husband and daughter keep driving by his house hes gonna get a restraining order? Is this even possible? None of us have contacted him in over a year but they live on the same street and we do need to drive by their house to get to the stop light to cross traffic. This situation is absolutely ridiculous. Oh and we live in New Mexico so any insight into this situation would be a great help. We miss the kids but we dont stop in front of their house, we simply wave to them if they happen to see us. So my thinking is how will they support trying to get a restraining order against us if they were the ones that moved right down the street....literally there are 5 houses separating us. SMH

6 months after knee surgery, still have bad limp & pain?

I had a giant cell tumor removed from my left knee (femur) in december '10, it got so big it fractured the bone and they had to fill it with cement. I was just wondering if it was normal to still have pain and very little range of movement after six months.

My dog dosent want to stay outside for long.?

Everytime I put my dog outside and im not out there with her she doesnt want to stay, shes been an inside dog since she was a puppy, shes three now. I want to get her used to being in the backyard whenever im not home but she scratches the door like crazy, is there any way I can get her to get used to staying outdoors? or do I just throw her out there and hope she gets used to it.

What would cause a fever over a week after hip surgery?

So my friend had metal plates put into her upper femur as the result of a hip injury (or something like that). Anyway, she has developed a high fever a week and two days after the date of her surgery. She has been prescribed oxys for the pain, and she was recently instructed to take ibuprofen alongside her pain medication. The fever developed after taking the ibuprofen, and she last took the ibuprofen at 5 am eastern standard time. Would the ibuprofen have caused the onset of the fever, or could there be a more serious underlying condition?

Had go-kart accident with a friends child who broke a leg, not on our property, his mom said yes r we liable?

We had a terrible accident with the little boy next door, 5, it has been the most awful thing to ever happen. Our kids rode with my hubby all day and no problems. I talked my hubby into letting the little neighbor boy go for a short ride, and tradgically some how his leg slid between the bars on the bottom and broke his femur. We have helped with hundreds of dollars and let them use our vehicle to go to Hosp and appts as theirs is not reliable for long distance. Anyway we have not had any problems he is healing well. And his mom and dad have been very understanding. It didnt happen on our property and his mother gave him permission, i dont think they r gonna sue us, we have been there to help through everything but im curious if in they would have a case against us? Just need to know, in Michigan. Thank you for any info, like i said I have 3 kids and this has been the worst thing our family has ever had to go through. We plan to continue to help with $ and everything else but i just need to know if they would have a case. Also it was a store manufactured gokart, not that it matters really.

Thickened Nuchal Fold 21 week II Ultrasound- short femur length too?

We went in for our 21 week ultrasound and our little guy would not hold still the whole time. The tech didn't see the 4 chambers of the heart (we will have an ultrasound at the high risk office on Monday)- and she noted that he had shortened femurs and a thickened nuchal fold (7.4mm). Everything I've read says measuring the Nuchal fold past 14 weeks is not a reliable indicator for down syndrome, and since my husband is thick necked and short (I am short too), it could just be our genetics, right? I am 21 and we have a 1 year old child with no genetic issues. I sent for the triple screening (genetic test) but I refuse to do an amnio because we would keep him either way.. Does anyone know what the odds are with these results? I don't want to think he for sure doesn't have DS, but I also don't want to sit on the fence for the rest of this pregnancy. Our ultrasound tech was also kind of absent minded and having a lot of trouble, could measurements be effected by her?

How to find caterpillars?

I need help. I'm in my backyard and I can't seem to find any. It's a very big backyard with alot of trees. It's not mine but it's my grandparents. I've been in there several times and found alot of caterpillars but I couldn't keep them because my mom said not to. She said this time I could keep it. So I'm trying to get on for my friend. I've found 2 caterpillars previously and they were purple and blue. I can't seem to find any though.. Not to mention that I'm in Chicago, Illinois and it is summer. Does anyone think I am an @$$ for thinking this?

I was in a car accident that wasnt my fault I broke my femur and had to have a rod put in my leg and I have to have surgery to remove a bone spur scheduled for June 14th and because of the Joplin Tornado they are moving it. They already moved it once from June 3rd to June 14th because my doctor was on vacation. I dont know what day it is going to be now all I know is I have been in pain and cant walk up stairs very well. I was just thinking my surgery should be on the same day it was scheduled a few months ago because I was here first and I didnt want to be in a car accident just as much as they didnt want to go through a tornado.

okay so normally eveyones graduation parties are just simple backyard bbqs with a few family and friends and a cold hot dog. but for my gradutaion party im going alll out and im having a dj and catered food from manhattan and lounge furniture and waiters and bar tenders and 120 people. okay so i have a group of 12 friends who are all graduating and we are all really close but only 4 of us are having grad parties. so one of the girls who are having a party decided to tell everyone that no one is exchanging gifts bc were all just gunna get it back at each others grad parties, which is saying oh im not gunna get u a weddig present bc eventually youll just get me one. so i mean thats fine but i told them that it was a little rude bc ive spent months planning this and trying to make everything perfect for everyone and i was taught that it is rude to show up to someones house with nothing. i have already gone out and bought each of the girls who r having parties gifts like cute things for their dorms. i think its rude to show up to someones house with nothing but im not gunna walk into their backyard bbqs with theses amazing gifts if they show up to my extremely expensive party with nothing. i hope i dont sound like a brat but it hurts my feelings to know that my good frends have no manners. when somone opens up their home u bring something like dessert or flowers right? let me know what you think please :)

Why do people put so much emphasis on IQ and intellect?

It annoys me so much there are so many different types of intelligence e.g. Creative, Emotional, and social. but people seem to think that a high IQ is the end all. I have a average IQ, yet i have grade 8 Piano, Grade 6 theory working for 8, and am good at composing, therefore I have a high creative intelligence, but no one seems to appreciate these skills in the same way as a high IQ, I mean is it really that great if you can solve a complex math formula, i cant but what I can do is write a chromatic fugue, write a concerto etc. My view is that music touches the the soul in a way that intellect can't and for that reason i wouldn't change myself in the slightest. A famous scientist when asked what would he show an alien race, he answered the complete works of Bach, Einstein himself said that creativity is more important than knowledge. Let me go bach to bach they predicted his IQ is 165 if think that is wrong, I think that his IQ was about 100 to 110, but his creative intelligence was very high, there is also some evidence that he may of been slightly autistic. But what I am trying to get at is why is there a Superiority around have a high IQ everybody is different and have different strengths and weaknesses, what do you guys think?

My world has been turned upside down this past week as my fiance got word that his cancer has spread up his leg and bone at the top of his femur is dead and he's going to have to have his leg amputated from the hip down, and quite frankly I'm freaking out. It is very common to have to go back and remove the wires holding the patella into place. These wires cause pain for many people. It is not that uncommon to have part of the patella taken out either. Why is my dog attacking my other dog?

I have 2 intact female dogs; Basset Hound and Cocker Spaniel. We bred our basset hound over 6 months ago and during her pregnancy she became aggressive about food with our cocker. When we discussed this with a professional they said it should pass once her puppies are gone and her hormones are back to normal. We didn't have any problems with her until a few weeks ago when she again became aggressive again over a few kibbles my daughter put on the floor. Then, this morning I heard growling near our back door and found our cocker sitting waiting to go out and avoiding eye contact with the Basset hound and as soon as I tried to intervene our Basset attacked. It's a lot of noise and growling, but no injuries. She is just coming out of heat. It's so surprising since our BH is so loving and playful and usually is best friends with the CS. I am wondering if we spay them both if the aggressiveness will stop, or if this is something we will need to bring a behaviorist in to correct. I am not a backyard breeder btw so no nasty comments. Neighbor taking out our shrubs, need an affordable safety fence!?

In the last year our unfriendly (but hadn't been hostile) neighbor has seemed to be going through something which seems to be getting worse and worse. He has never talked to me in 5 years, but one sudden manic moment told me all about how the cops had taken his friend away and now had a restraining order, and how he'd been sick for a year and lost a ton of weight. I never knew anything about him, though tried to say hi and had for years left holiday cards, but all in 1 conversation learned more than I would normally have learned in months. He never talked to me again since (that was 6 months ago) and since then he has had new friends move in/out, had men stopping in front of our house at 3:30am beeping (I could see the man's GPS, so I figure he didn't know the neighbor much since he didn't know where he lived), and recently had his new live-in friend taken out by stretcher unconscious at about 4pm (I'm only guessing drugs, but don't know, but he had told me in that one conversation that his last friend had been drunk and doing drugs the night he was arrested). All of this story is to lead up to why I am more worried that he is getting worse, more unbalanced. His house is very close to our's, and a few days ago he walked onto our lawn while I was home with my baby and pulled out a bunch of our shrubs along our house that my husband had been growing for years. Our neighbor is a cop, and he told us his wife saw him do it, and it makes me think this neighbor is getting more and more unbalanced, and I'm scared, and a new mom, and so nervous to be in our little backyard with my baby. We have a little fence between our yards halfway, but it's only about 3 ft high. We don't have much money but I'm desperate to put in a higher fence! I've been researching putting in our own fence, but we can't afford the put together fences I found online (I called the town hall, and we can have 6ft tall, and can be on the property line, but the man suggested leaving a foot). I have been trying to think of ways to build a fence, or find used lumber, or maybe buying some inexpensive mesh? I saw rolls of mesh on one site and posts, and also saw faux ivy screens that might make more privacy, but my biggest concern is safety, and keeping him/anything out from his side of the yard. It may sound like I'm being a nervous mom, but I have heard the screaming from outdoors at 3:30 am, and heard banging on our backdoor one night, and think he or is ex-boyfriend may have hurdled our little fence, so I really have been scared to go out. On a tight budget, is there any way that someone can build some kind of fence? There's nothing wrong with being an introvert! I consider myself to be one. Introversion doesn't mean that somebody is necessarily shy or socially awkward like some think, one can be extroverted and shy as well. All introversion means is that you enjoy spending time by yourself and build up energy that way. Extroversion means you constantly feel the need to be around people, though that doesn't necessarily mean you have good social skills. So for me, being introverted means that even though I definitely like spending time with close friends and meeting new people, there are many times where I would just rather be by myself and think things to myself. But I've been to lots of job interviews and consider myself a decent interviewee, seeing as I got the first job I interviewed for both this summer and last. You being nervous has nothing to do with introversion and is something that can be easily worked on.

Why am I experiencing this pain in my legs?

Hey, I'm a 17 year old guy and like 2 days ago my leg began to feel this sort of strange pain in my femur first, now more my fibula and tibia. I went to support my sister one time several years ago. Supportive. They talked about what things were triggers for them to overeat. Spent time trying to get to the bottom of the 'addiction' of it. What breed of dog should I be looking into to get?

My dog has purple skin...why?

My dog Maxwell had surgery for his femur about two months ago. He had his pin removed last month and is doing great. He was in a couple weeks ago to get his stitches and staples out of his leg. They had shaved the area a few times. Recently he has a purple tint to this area of his skin. He doesnt act any differently or care if you touch it. He is completely normal. My right femur is very painful and I don't think it's a muscle problem because it doesn't feel like muscle ache, but when I put weight on it, it hurts lots at first then settles into a dull ache. I hate to sound like a hypochondriac but I'm worried it could be caused from a previous leg injury that may have weakened the bone??? Okay, I'm not tellling you this to scare you, just to give you as much info as I know. Sometimes in cases of I.U.G.R. (intra uterine growth restriction) when the baby is not getting enough nutrition to grow properly the body will divert more resources to brain development, resulting in a head that is disproportionately big compared to the rest of the body. Since your baby's femur is measuring correct and not small for weeks it may not be anything, but if I were you I'd bring this up with your doctor just to be on the safe side. Also, ultra sound measurements are not exact, just estimates and also subject to human errors, so maybe that's the case. In regards to your question about your baby being big, I don't think that's case if the femur measured normally, plus within 2 weeks is still normal and is probably just due to the margin of error on an ultrasound.

Four year old in two leg casts?

A 4 year old I know broke his femur yesterday. He is in a full leg cast on his right leg and a thigh length cast on his other leg. He will basically be immobile in these casts from at least 6 weeks. I as well as a bunch of other friends and family of him are wanting to get together some activites that he could do over the summer while he is in his cast. My family and i just move to a big house and we have a pretty big backyard, I have always wanted to own a dog, but never got one. Can a disabled person enlist in the Army ?

I was struck by a car on November 22, 2007 and had ended up in a coma for 2 months. I had two broken legs (compound fracture in the left femur, broken right fibula, tibia) a hair line fracture across the left side of my hip, two collapsed lungs, which lead to a tracheotomy, and finally, a brain injury. Ever since then all I've been doing is getting my life back together. I'm not missing any limbs or anything as serious, but i do have a rod in my left leg from the compound fracture i spoke about earlier and two screws that keep my hip together. I am now 22 years old, but soon to be 23 in October 3. I just finished my college courses and I should soon obtain an associates degree in applied sciences (Automotive Technology). It's been hard for me to get a job, not because of my disability, but because of this economy. This is the next best thing for me and my Family. Pain where body meets leg?

So all of last summer, I noticed that sometimes the area where my body meets my leg...my left leg..right around that big bone ( cant think of the name right now. Is it the femur??) really hurt. I would be sitting and all of the sudden it was like I had a terrible pinched nerve. Once, I was on the back of my dad's motorcycle and suddenly that area just started throbbing. I tried to stretch my leg but couldnt. I ended up having to get off for a second. Then, one night after a sleepover, I came home and that area just killed me so bad. It hurt to walk so I walked very awkwardly. For about 4 days, I had to gimp around. Heating pads and ice packs did not work. Then suddenly it went away. It happened on and off rarely since then. Now, the other day I was on my horse and suddenly I felt that feeling again. I tried to stretch it around and it would fade and then come back whenever I moved my leg. This morning I woke up and that area is sore. What could it be? I used to have the abilty to move my leg around in it's socket so maybe that has something to do with it? i am fat. overweight and i have no life, i basically have this problem because i eat when im bored, sometimes im really bored so i eat even though im not hungry but i dont realize until later. Somethings Wrong With My Poodle?

I have a silver St. Poodle and he sleeps in a huge cage in my bedroom right by my bed. I've been waking up in the middle of the night to find him like, gagging or making some deep, weird noise coming from the pit of his stomach and throwing up. It's kind of scaring me because hes only 1 year old and I don't know whats wrong with him. Before he throws up, when his noises start, he just sits there and gags. I feel bad for him. A few weeks earlier, I was giving him these raw hide bones and he started gagging and throwing up after I gave him those. I thought it was the little pieces he chews off. I stopped giving him those and got him some pig femur bone and he started up again. Ive not given him anything like that for a few weeks, and he still gags and throws up. Last night, I saw the throw up and there was some grass in it. But, in his other throw up, its just chunks. Hes fit and healthy, I would think. He gets proper exercise and food and water.. Can someone tell me whats wrong?

When would I be able to walk after surgery on my leg?

March of 2010 I broke my femur in a car accident and had to have a rod put in my leg. In about a month I am going to have surgery to cut out a bone spur. They said it would require a bigger insision than what it took to put the rod in my leg. After the last surgery I was walking without crutches in about 3 weeks. They said I would need about a week of doing pretty much nothing I was wondering if after that week I would be back up on my feet or if I would need crutches fir a while after that. Also how long would it be before I could go out and find a job

I have been put under twice, you feel kinda funny right before you go out but its no biggie :) and when you wake up you feel like you just went to sleep!! you dont wake up feeling like you have had a long nights sleep but you do wake up still feeling kinda high lol...it wears off and its not a big deal so dont worry!! Your gonna do fine!

How do I tell the difference between ewing's sarcoma leg pains, and growing pains?

Where on earth did you hear of many untreated cases because the doctors found nothing on x-ray? I work in pediatric oncology and have not witnessed this at all. Ewings is rare. The pain is intense, and would likely only be in ONE limb. If you're having pain in both femurs, it's so very unlikely to be Ewings.

well basically every thing is normal after surgery. so thats good. it shows there was a fracture but its calcified and healed. basically there is a shadow of where the rod was. and there are some areas of harder bone.

Ok so I recently moved in w my dad and I brang my pomeranian girl and my chihuahua boy. Mom's confused! Help?

My mother is 60 years old. She has a laundry list of things wrong with her. She is depressed, has COPD, CHF and ESRD. She is also insulin dependent diabetic. One month ago, she broke her femur. While she was in the hospital they had her on morphine, and my mother was having hallucinations and confusion. They took her off all of the narcotics she was on, and they claimed she was fine. (I still saw a bit of confusion there, but the doctor dismissed it). She was released to a SNF for rehab and developed pneumonia a week and a half later. She was then readmitted to the hospital for treatment of the pneumonia. The confusion has come back. They have done C\T scans, tested her blood levels, O2 levels, vitamin levels and everything keeps coming back normal, except my mother. My mom has been in and out of hospitals all her life, she has never had this kind of side effect from any medication ever. Can someone give me a clue as to what might be happening here?

Hi,I had a surgery for my fractured right tibial bone a year ago.The surgeon performed a metal implantation to repair the fractured the bone.After 4 months of physical therapy,my legs were back to normal condition.But my final x-ray,bone-scan and MRI found out that I had a tumor on my right femur.The radiologist concluded that it was benign but I would have to have physical examination frequently.After 6 months,I did another x-ray and MRI,where radiologist found an increased activity in the area and suggested that it was a possible malignancy.He recommended for biopsy,and further contrast MRI and triple phase bone scan.i am still waiting for the appointments but I'm worried how bad this thing is.I have read that people with metal implants used to repair fractures are more likely yo develop osteosarcoma.How true can it possibly be in my case?Is it curable by a surgery,without having to perform any amputation of the part?

Would boxing complement Shotokan karate?

Moonlighting in another style would be very good for you. It seems like your school is very traditional and almost reminds me of an Aikido school in the way of, "less sparring, more technique". Personally I think that's a bad way to train because it makes you get the wrong feel about fighting. If you're doing it for a hobby then its no big deal, but if you want to compete than its a good idea to look up something else. I've studied Shotokan Karate a bit, just to learn about it, and I've found its a decent style. It still has the "old school" mentality you find in some styles but its overall not bad. Though if you're going through lax training, maybe you should look for another school that has a similar style that you can get more sparring and competitive training in. After all, you can practice a technique 100 times, but if you're not used to doing it against someone who's trying to hurt you in the process, you're not gonna be ready when the time comes to use it. Try looking for something like Taekwondo, Tang Soo Do, Kickboxing, or even just a different Karate school. This way your training wont go to waste and you'll be able to transition well.

BEEF STEW? Need a recipe for full flavory, hearty THIN beef stew. Anyone know one?

My uncle is wasting away in a nursing home, but LOVES old fashioned, home made beef stew if it's THIN. He doesn't like "mush" he says. So, I know au jus works pretty well and some beef broth, but do I need some beef bones? Will femur bones work? My rabbit is having babies outside?

I would put on gloves or something and put the next into a box. When my rabbit unexpectedly started making a nest, that's what I did and she didn't care. I actually made a lot of her nest for her and she just made a few "adjustments." I would move the nest into a box, and have the box be big enough for the mom to go into it to feed her babies. I would not have your rabbit outside until her babies are born. If she has them ousted the father will DEFINITELY come and eat them. So if you don't have a cage for her, just put the shoe box into a bigger box that she has enough room to move a little in and that she cant get out of. After that, just give her some peace. (also, if her nest isn't totally finished just give her a pillow again or some hay)

Keeping dogs outside to sleep ?

Ok, so i have a golden retriever mix and my parents who live next door to me have a black lab. Now, the back yards are connected and i can go through my backyard and let my dog into my parents yard to play with the other black dog durring the day. The black dog is a hunting dog (we live in louisiana so my dad duck hunts every season) but my dog is just a mix from the pound but a good dog. The point is that my parents bulid a 5 by 5 fully equipped dog house for them.It had a light, A/C and Heater in it. They just finished it last week and started thinking that they were going to leave their dog the black one outside over night. My dad still takes her out for training and walking during the week but they thought it was a good idea to help her coat fill and to keep the house cleaner while shes sheading and having her (time) if you know when i mean. Well, they asked me if i would leave my dog outside at night as well to keep the other dog company and i wasnt sure what to do. My dog sleeps in a kennel inside our home but has never spend a whole night outside. Does anyone think it would be a totally bad idea to leave her outside? They have teh dog house and each other and i take her for walks during the week but i just dont want her to feel neglected at night bc she is used to sleeping inside. IDK how she will react.
